Parking Violations

The Board wants to remind all residents that there is a set of regulations that explain parking and vehicle use. These rules minimize the amount of inconvenience that residents and guests must endure in our community.

One of the most common regulations that is in place in HOAs is the request that cars not be parked on sidewalks or directly in front of the sidewalks leading to the entry doors of the building. A vehicle that obstructs the sidewalk can be inconvenient and disastrous if emergency respondents such as paramedics, fire, or police need access. And now that the winter months are upon us, snow removal crews need access to clear the sidewalks.

Two other consistent violations are stored or inoperable vehicles and vehicles with expired tags. To reiterate the parking policy, Non-Reserved Parking areas are designated for the daily in-and-out use of Residents and their Guests. Non-Reserved Parking may not be used for Long-Term Parking of any vehicle, recreational vehicle, trailer, boat, or camper. The parking of a vehicle for more than 14 days without in-and-out use is deemed long term. This rule may not be evaded by moving the vehicle from one parking space to another or by turning the vehicle around in the same space. All vehicles within the Condominium Project must display current license tags and registration. Failure to comply will result in the offending vehicle being towed at Owner expense.

For cars that consistently violate rules, the HOA does have the authority to have vehicles towed and apply fines. You are also likely to have to pay a fine for a towed vehicle. You may read the regulation in its entirety in our Policies, Rules, and Regulations document. Each of the A, B, C, D, and E units has two spaces to park vehicles: in the garage

and the space in front of the garage. Additional spaces for guest parking are located throughout the community. The Board does recognize one of the problems we face are residents with more cars than will fit in their personal space and who begin using the guest facilities as extra parking spots. Not only is this a huge inconvenience for all residents, it is an abuse of the regulations set forth in our governing documents.

Often in these cases, residents will have their cars towed, or experience fines for recurring violations. Please remember that our HOA parking regulations are for the benefit of the community and may be in contrast to the inconvenience that it may seem.
