It’s that time of year again when the lawn care and maintenance crew will begin to clean up the landscape and perform exterior inspections on buildings. Remember, if you have anything that needs attention in your limited common area or building, give Homestead a call to have it repaired.
All owners and residents are encouraged to clean their decks and patios at least twice a year so that yard waste doesn’t accumulate and become unsightly. The reduction debris build up around the fences and foundation of the buildings helps reduce maintenance cost.

Building Maintenance Check Your Appliances
Water Heaters
Now is the time to check the hot water heater, clean your furnace, clean dryer vent pipes and check bathroom fixtures and other items inside your units. It is highly recommended that all work is completed by a licensed contractor. It is also recommended to drain a few gallons of water from your water heater periodically to remove sediment from the tank bottom.
Washing Machine Hoses
As your washing machines ages, it is a good idea to check the condition of the hoses to make sure they have not become worn. A deteriorated hose can easily burst and cause thousands of dollars in water damage.
It is also a good idea to check the waterline from the wall connection to the toilet to make sure the connections are in good repair.

The limited common area is for your personal enjoyment however, you are expected to keep these areas neat and clean. These areas are exclusive to an individual unit such as patios, decks, stairs, landings, handrails, patios areas, etc.
Please keep these areas free of leaves, trash, or other materials that can cause a fire hazard. Failure to maintain your limited common area can result in violations and possible fines.
